Mission:

Nuestro Ahora seeks to provide disadvantaged children in El Salvador, especially those have grown up in orphanages and shelters, with an opportunity to attend an institution of higher education while equipping them with the skills necessary to become engaged citizens. We do this realizing that education creates multiple, tangible opportunities for both personal and societal change today and tomorrow.

Results:

In the past three years, we've successfully supported more than 20 university scholarship students and over 50 high school aged students in our Life Skills & Leadership Development programming. We support a network of 20 orphanages throughout El Salvador, where more than 1,000 children reside. Graduates of our program are the first in their families to complete their basic schooling and go on to work in successful, dignified jobs allowing them to provide a better future for themselves, their families, their communities, and our world.

I have volunteered at the Natalia de Siman orphanage for 8 years and Nuestro Ahora started supporting several of the girls from the orphanage a few years ago.
