Mission: Incorporated as a 501(c)(3) in 1962, DDF has effectively pursued public education in the practical need for wise use of our nation's wealth of natural resources. In 2001, the Foundation helped to complete a new $3,000,000 Center for Education at the J.N. "Ding" Darling National Wildlife Refuge on Sanibel Island, Florida. One of the most highly visited National Wildlife Refuges in the United States, the Refuge receives 800,000 annual visitors from around the world, offering an unequaled opportunity for conservation education.
