Mission: The environmental leadership program seeks to transform public understanding of environmental issues by training and supporting a diverse network of visionary, action-oriented, emerging leaders.
Programs: Regional fellowship programs: elp's regional fellowship programs offer intensive leadership and skill training, regional and national networking opportunities, and time for personal and professional reflection. Through retreats and optional additional trainings, our curriculum helps emerging leaders hone their leadership styles, improve their strategy and organizational development, and strengthen their outreach to diverse constituencies. In 2014 elp operated four regional networks, its new england program for those living and/or working in ct, ma, me, nh, ri and vt; its eastern program for those living and/or working in de, nj, ny and eastern pa; its chesapeake program for those living and/or working dc, md and va; and its pacific northwest program for those living and/or working in ak, or and wa. In total, 73 emerging leaders completed the program and joined our national network of senior fellows.
national fellowship program: elp's national fellowship programs offer intensive leadership and skill training, networking opportunities, and time for personal and professional reflection. Through retreats and optional additional trainings, our curriculum helps emerging leaders hone their leadership styles, improve their strategy and organizational development, and strengthen their outreach to diverse constituencies. In 2014 elp's national fellowship class had 16 emerging leaders from around the country who completed the program and joined our national network of senior fellows.
general program: includes general program work and support to regional networks. Elp general program activities provide additional support to our regional and national fellows as well as our senior fellowship community (graduates of the program). Included in our general program activities in 2014 was our webinar series, a dynamic online program that provides educational opportunities to the general public on the diverse areas of expertise within the elp community; our fourth women's retreat which brought together 15 members of our senior fellows community to discuss the challenges women face as they continue to expand their leadership responsibilities in the workplace; and our second all community retreat which brought together 85 members of the elp community and board to learn about a broad range of environmental and social change issues and expand each participants professional network.
innovation grants program: in 2014, elp launched held the third round of its innovation grants program which has two distinct goals, to create innovative projects and programs which can be replicated and/or scaled up. And to increase the project based collaborations among members of the elp fellowship community. In 2014, elp awarded 1 new innovation grant to a team of 3 senior fellows.
