ASH builds community centers to fight disease and poverty. We empower poor communities through health and opportunity. We partner with communities to not just to get them healthy, but to keep them healthy, and we don't do it just one way, but by every means necessary.
Results: Our current site is in Wamuini, western Kenya where the community center is maintained by local leaders and designed to reach financial sustainability within 10 years.
Geographic areas served: Kitale, Kenya
Programs: We take a 5-pronged holistic approach to sustained health involving: access to medical care, clean water, housing, education, and economic opportunity. Because health involves much more than just medicine.

Ambassadors for Sustained Health is an amazing organization with a unique vision and approach. Some things that stand out from my experience working with them:
1. their comprehensive approach toward the issue of healthcare - ASH understands that the health of a community goes beyond medicine and facilitates programs that impact essential facets of growth and development in a community such as education, agriculture and economic opportunity.
2. the way they work with the communities they partner with - from the beginning, the organization has had goal of making a long-term impact and that mindset permeates their approach. ASH focuses on one community at a time and partners with community leaders to work toward their unique aspirations instead of solely dropping off financial support. Programs are run by community members and the entire community is in turn invested in their development and growth.
Ambassadors for Sustained Health is made up of enthusiastic individuals, optimistic about the impact communities can have in creating a sustained healthier future.
