Mission: We're a christian organization desiring to be in the middle of people, right where they're at, allowing the intersections of life to create opportunities to minister discipleship, evangelism, counseling, prayer, and leadership training. Our hope is to bring people into the freedom available to them in christ, guide people into their true identity in christ, help the churches locally create missionaries - not members, equip believers - not just teach them, and simply to be available. We desire to be with the people, to be available, and not to get bogged down in admin or programs. Therefore we're positioning ourselves in the community where people are, we're available. We seek to make ourselves more accessible to non-believers by being in homes rather than "religious" buildings.
Programs: Bible studies: the activity and purpose of our bible studies is to expose everyone to biblical truth. We hope that truth begins to make a difference in their lives. We hope that the study creates in each person a desire to know god more and to seek him on their own with a confidence that they know how to approach the word of god on their own. We have anywhere from 15-35 in attendance of these weekly bible studies where we have studied intensely the biblical books of esther, hebrews, james, 1 samuel, and ephesians. We educate christians on their god, his activity in their life and their response to him and others in light of that knowledge. We also train leaders how to lead bible studies by using the actual study as a workshop talking about how it went afterward and giving others a chance to lead from time to time. In the past, the bulk of the teaching was done by the ministers of a little bit of yeast ministries. This program is conducted weekly in various homes on a rotational basis by the directors, officers and some volunteers. We market this program through personal relationships and another program called sunday night hangout. We expose believers and nonbelievers alike to the truths of the bible and have seen many non-believers participate in these studies and several have come to faith through the study. We also have a study where we have taken 15 people though an intensive 4 month study on how to hear gods voice in your own life. In this study, attendees learn the difference between gods voice, satan's voice, and our own voice. This year, we continue to help lead and direct a bible study made up of 25-30 men ranging in age from 20-70's. The men come from all walks of life and religious experiences. Each week we teach them directly from the bible and equip them in how to study it on their own. Our young men's study has transitioned as we have raised up new leaders and handed it over to them. We see this as the natural evolution of our discipleship and leadership training, believing that giving ministry away to capable trained leaders is a healthy part of ministry. This allowed us to pour attention into the start the start of the church of the free.
church of the free: in 2010 we launched the start of a brand new church called "church of the free". We spent time developing leaders, pastoring the flock, and creating a gospel living community. We provided preaching services every sunday, and discipleship classes on a weekly basis. The church started with 25 and grew to as high as 80 in 2010. We believe in furthering the gospel by creating a vibrant church that understands how god wants to use them individually as well as corporately.
prayer: we don't believe anything can happen without praying. We believe that god is the one who makes everything happen so we are committed to praying daily. In this we seek god's direction and will in regards to our activity. We also pray for all of those involved in our programs. We spend at least an hour each day praying and we have a regular prayer meeting every tuesday morning for a couple of hours to pray corporately. We have spent time discipling other in how to pray effectively. We have trained a church how to listen to god's voice, how to minister out of his voice, and how to pray with that knowledge.
personal ministry: the purpose of this program is for the ministers of a little bit of yeast ministries to disciple, listen to, pray with and for, and spiritually advise anyone who asks for it. We interact with people on a one on one basis. This is a daily program. We build friendships in order to build trust to speak into their lives. We are available to give biblical counsel and mentor/disciple. Our goal is to train leaders through feedback, listening, and teachable moments that occur through everyday life simply by being with them. We are available to anyone via the phone, personal contact, and/or the internet. These relationships come from people in our bible studies, sunday night hangout, people we meet in the community. This program takes place all over the community in places like coffee shops, restaurants, homes, etc. We have 5- 6 people we regularly meet with each week giving them 2-3 hours of our time each week. This intense relationship has led to men who are not only disciples but men who are becoming leaders themselves. We believe we are making men who are solid in their faith, capable of leading, with a heart to serve, and the ability to positively impact those around them for christ.
