Review for WeSPARK Cancer Support Center, Sherman Oaks, CA, USA

Rating: 5 stars

Hello Internet, A close friend of mine, Wendie, started this support group about 15 years ago out of her home in Sherman Oaks. In little time she found a location and a platform to spread her cause of cancer knowledge and awareness through a storefront on Ventura Blvd. This place became a supporting and peaceful environment through which people could explore and delve into their health issue with positivity and encouragement. She created a cost free place where guests can interact in a place that feels like a home and not some room in a building someplace. An environment that was built for you to clear your mind and acknowledge yourself in a stimulating and positive way and let you know that you are not in this by yourself, that you have support from others, who care and have experience. If you or anyone you know is affected by cancer in any way shape or form, I can't suggest WeSPARK enough. It has helped myself and countless amounts of other people battle their biggest battle. Do yourself a favor and call.

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

helping people cope with the tragedies in life.

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

try to expand it all throughout the city.

What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...

that all the people who are involved in running it.

The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...

courteous and compasionate.

If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...

do people wonders.

Ways to make it better...

cancer did not exist.

In my opinion, the biggest challenges facing this organization are...

funding and exposure.

One thing I'd also say is that...

i love this place and the people who use and work here.

When was your last experience with this nonprofit?

2009
