As a long time volunteer with this organization, I am continually amazed by the dedication and caring people who volunteer with Family Outreach. Because of their time and effort, lives have been changed. It is a joy to see the transformation of families who are offered hope and a pathway to a better future for thier families.

I have volunteered with Family Outreach Richardson/Plano for over ten years. During that time I've held various positions on the board; however, the most rewarding work for me is to mentor families. I love meeting these families who are undergoing stress in their lives. it is amazing to watch the transformation when the families realize we are not there to judge them but to help better their lives through counseling, parenting classes or sometimes just to listen. This is a very caring group of volunteers who give tirerlessly of their time. I am honored to be a part of this organization.

When I retired over twelve years ago, I looked in the community for opportunities to reach out and help others. Fortunately, I found Family Outreach Richardson- Plano. What first attracted me was the dedication of the volunteers. The volunteers give so tiredlessly of their time to help others and work to break the cycle of child abuse through facilitating parenting classes or by mentoring a family. They bring hope to families for a better future.
Most of the volunteers help with the administrative needs as well.

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

mentoring families. I've personally helped with finding health care and counseling for children and adults. Many times before Family Outreach became involved, the family is overwhelmed and unsure of where to turn for services. We offer a helping hand and guidance to help ensure a better quality of life.

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

find a way to recruit more volunteers and funding to hire an assistant to help alleviate some of the administrative duties from the volunteers.

Role:  Volunteer & I've mentored several families, taught parenting classes and served on the administrative board in various positions.
