I first became involved with HCF as a volunteer while living in Kathmandu. My college age son, who was in Kathmandu for an internship, and I worked at the school opening the library after school hours for free reading and art activities. We loved volunteering there, such a friendly happy place with the children so interested in talking to us. When my son graduated from College the next year he wanted his monetary gifts to go to the school. His aunts and uncle agreed to continue sponsoring the little boy yearly. Two years later my family gave me a gift of sponsorship for a little girl for Christmas. We also have been lucky enough to return to Nepal several times, have visited the school and spent very special time with these two children and several others. This is a very special school, providing both academic education, values of compassionate Buddhism and valuable life skills.
