as a child of an abusive situation; growing up was hard I wished for someone to be a voice for me and there was no one--the situation was never discussed as I grew up
later in life I entered into two helping professions--always with the idea of helping women and children of abusive situations
as a retired person, now I have the privilege to lend a hand and help the children by being their voice in the court
