Review for Aurora Foundation, Fairfax, VA, USA
Working with the Aurora Foundation has been a joy. There is a lot of work to do in assisting colleges to make their campuses veteran-friendly, and by working with Aurora, I have been able to not only help spread word that there is a need, but learn more specifically what experts in the VA and institutes of Higer Ed envision. Aurora has already began work with the Veteran populations of George Mason University and Virginia Commonwealth University in shaping their campuses to help Student veterans stay enrolled in school and graduate. Aurora also has an internship program that is uniquely positioned to give internships to student veterans only in their career fields of interest.
More Feedback
I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...
seeing student veterans apply for internships, seeing corporate sponsors come forward and volunteer their company to host an intern, as well as see awareness increase due to the social media campaign.
If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...
try to host a webinar for interested dicrectors of veteran affairs and tell them about the Aurora internship program and the benefits of being an Aurora intern to try to spread the word to a more direct audience.
