I have been priviledged to work in the Wichita community with Alternative Gifts International for over 10 years. Their efforts in raising awareness of poverty is commendable along with their tireless efforts in raising necessary funds to be utilized in service and support to the homeless, the hungry and all those in need through community and church-based events throughout the year. The Alternative Gift Markets are most effective in telling the stories of struggle of men, women and children here in the United States and abroad. But along with their stories they feature the hope for a better life and future for themselves, their families and their communities & villages. AGI advocacy and featured needs enables donors to designate their giving in specific areas and therefore have a personal connection to the support they are giving each project.

My organization has received financial support from AGI for our homeless family shelter program and our food pantry programs here in Wichita. Without this assistance, we would not be able to serve all in need.

I would recommend they promote their fundraising events in the community through public service advertisements on radio and television and perhaps get a local "celebrity" that would lend a greater "recognition" to the work they do.
