Review for Mind Treasures, San Diego, CA, USA

Rating: 5 stars

The inspiring transformations of young minds was made evident in the fall of 2010 at Johnson Elementary School in San Diego county. One third grader on the first day of the after school class program stated he didn’t need to learn about making money because he was going to rob banks. By the fourth week of classes, his demeanor had completely changed and he was now developing and manifesting virtues highlighted in the course such as respect, patience, responsibility. He was now understanding the importance of saving money instead of wanting to steal it. Many of the students likewise experienced many positive character improvements and grew in financial maturity and in understanding the importance of balance and moderation in their use of time as well as in their spending habits.

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

The rare privilege of molding and reaching youths in setting and attaining financial goals for the purpose of giving back and helping others is one of the most rewarding experiences in the field of education. The potential of so many millions of young ones developing their untapped virtues and using them as a treasure chest to be shared with the world is a blessing no child should miss out on.

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

Empower the foundation with the resources to expand its lofty objective of raising a generation mentored to become financially stable and independent, and to use that wealth and prosperity for philanthropic purposes for the building of stronger neighborhoods and communities.

Role:  Volunteer & Teach third Graders Financial Literacy through Character Development.
