Review for Earth Child Institute Inc, New York, NY, USA

The Earth Child Institute has made and contributes to generate vital contributions in the field of sustainable development and moreover has a significant impact on youth participation in decision making. As a Youth Advisor to the Institute I am able to share ideas and perspectives, am in the position to suggest and question and am able to broaden my understanding of today's complex and interconnected issues, thereby giving to and learning from stakeholders in the field. In fact, through cooperation and collaboration with young people from diverse background and with various interests, the institute gradually forms young leaders and future change agents. There is no doubt, the Earth Child Institute has taken a central role in the field of sustainable development, has recognized the role of youth in this process and, with Rio+20 approaching, will strengthen its influence, further expand its efforts and reach out even farther. The Institute fully deserves wide spread support and acknowledgement and may easily be perceived as a cradle of hope in an era of tremendous challenges.

It has been remarkable to witness the incredibly positive transformation of all the young people the Earth Child Institute collaborates with. The Institute turns passionate individuals into young leaders and youth stakeholders, nourishes interaction across borders and cultures and thereby emphasizes the significance of informal learning.

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

The Earth Child Institute at all times is watchful and self-critical, a fact demonstrated by the establishment of its Youth Advisory Board. Due to its structure and way of operation the Institute continuously adapts to the status quo and thereby secures it position at the forefront of tackling sustainable development.

Role:  Advisor & I serve as a Youth Advisor to the Earth Child Institute, requiring close collaboration with the Institute's leadership and enables me to lobby for innovative approaches to today's most critical issues, further defining and strengthening the role of youth .
