seeing up-front the high level of commitment of their staff and the good they do in the communities they serve. I meet people in my current job whom I did not know previously; many of them are familiar with Tostan and their comments are very positive.
If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...
No changes. Stay focused on the mission and don't grow too much. Part of the success of Tostan, I feel, is due to the fact that it is committed to continued community service, not necessarily growth.
Role: Donor & My first experience with Tostan came as a volunteer; I worked in the Kaolack, Senegal office for eight months between 2008/2009 as part of my Masters Degree studies. I was impressed by their track record and by the social change they were stimulating in .
