Review for The National Organization For Women Foundation Inc, Washington, DC, USA
The National Organization for Women Foundation takes effective action to improve the lives of women and girls. While it conducts education on many issues, the one that has engaged me for years if Love Your Body Day. This annual campaign involves students from grade school through graduate school in creating positive, healthy body-image and self confidence. With poster contests and activities, Love Your Body Day counteracts dangerous, unrealistic images of women and girls in media and entertainment. A real women's fashion show in a park was one of my favorite actions. We showed clothes that were comfortable on models of all ages and sizes. The audience included passers-by who were enthusiastic in their support, and we had a great time for a good cause.

Review for National Organization for Women Inc, Washington, DC, USA
As attacks on the progress women have made escalate, NOW continues to work to improve the lives of women and our families at the national level and in communities across the country. NOW is working in Congress for reauthorization of the Violence Against Women Act. When Rush Limbaugh attacked a young woman who spoke up in favor of contraception, NOW activists began a campaign to say "Enough Rush" to advertisers and stations that carry his show. Because NOW understands the connections, NOW also works to end all types of discrimination & prejudice. NOW has been actively advocating equal marriage, and NOW activists are working for justice for Trayvon Martin.

NOW's willingness to take strong stands...and take the heat that often comes with them...has always impressed me. Whetherthe issue is equal marriage or abortion rights, Wallmart or Wall Street, the Courts, the Congress or the culture, NOW is there working to improve the lives of all women.

Opening doors for women--everything from the soap box derby to the US Supreme Court, and most everything in between.
If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...
