Casa Myrna has transformed my life and that of my children by helping me break the cycle of violence that has haunted my family for generations! They have been an instrumental source of support, empowerment and shelter when I most needed. My story is one of pain, courage and triumph…too long to share in this setting but I will briefly summarize it. I was seventeen in high school with a one year old daughter and son on the way and no safe place to go. I was turned away from other DV shelters because of my age, that’s when Casa Myrna Vazquez opened their doors to me. That day nineteen years ago I was born again and I've since lived everyday to the fullest for me and my children. I was given a second chance at life and I took it! Thank you Casa Myrna Vazquez for starting the cycle of healthy happy living that will continue for generations to come!
