Review for LIVESTRONG Foundation, Austin, TX, USA
I have volunteered for seven years and I love what the foundation has done for so many people. When my friend had a terminal brain tumor Lance's story inspired her so much she kept a picture of him on her bathroom mirror to remind her to be strong. Her goal was go get better so she could volunteer and when she passed away I started volunteering in her honor but what I never realized is how many people from all walks of life get cancer in their lifetimes. Livestrong is there from the beginning whether it is to provide valuable information or just a word of encouragement. There has also been millions of dollars raised that have gone towards valuable research and programs. The employees, many of whom are survivors themselves, work tirelessly toward making a difference in the fight against cancer and that is truly inspirational.
More Feedback
I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...
many forms, including growth, fundraising and awareness.
If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...
keep up the good work.
What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...
walking away feeling that my time has been well spent and meeting survivors who are strong beyond belief.
The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...
mostly affected by one way or another by this terrible disease and I think that is where their inspiration comes from.
If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...
keep on funding important research.
Ways to make it better...
I could spend more time helping out, there is so much to do for this cause.
In my opinion, the biggest challenges facing this organization are...
the recession, most people don't have as much to give.
One thing I'd also say is that...
we really need to keep up the effort to find a cure and raise awareness.
