Although research shows that Women work two-thirds of Africa's labor hours, they unfortunately receive less than 10% of the continent’s income and remain the face of poverty. They are not only paid less but they also own less than 1% of property in Africa, they are continuously discriminated by most public policies, and have fewer chances to pursue education. Worse, the little earning that women make is spent on children and household. Hence, Links Africa is an international nonprofit organization that recognizes the need to empower women and girls through education, public policy advocacy and capacity building for women leadership. The education and training that Links Africa provides enable women and girls achieve their full potential. Links Africa is a relatively new organization and it operates on a limited budget. However, their programs make a huge lasting difference in the lives of poor girls and women in Africa. I support Links Africa and will continue to support it because I strongly believe in its mission and vision.
