Links Africa uses a very pragmatic approach to deal with the challenge of poverty particularly among girls and women in Africa. Research shows that poverty continues to impoverish majority of citizens in the developing world who live on 2 dollars a day. Links Africa strongly believes that if such people are provided with scholarships to access quality education and academic excellence awards so that they are motivated, they would have an opportunity to realize their full potential and compete in the global economy. The organization also believes that women must seek elective positions in the public sector so that they contribute to the decision-making process. It is for these reasons that Links Africa is my favorite nonprofit organization. However, the organization operates under a very tight budget and finds it difficult to turn away some of the very needy girls. The organization commits almost 100% of the funds towards the programs. Any person who has an opportunity to volunteer or donate should consider supporting Links Africa – you will definitely get true value for your help.
