I support Links Africa because its programs that pertain to the empowerment of girls and women through education, public policy advocacy, capacity building for women leadership and provision of academic excellence award fundamentally address the challenge of poverty. In Africa, women bare a great responsibility to taking care of entire family. Therefore, providing education to them enables them to make informed decisions that impact everyone in the family. For example, educated women are more likely to make better decisions about the quality of education, healthcare and nutrition for their family. Hence, an educated and empowered woman becomes an asset for not only the family but the entire community. Although, Links Africa has a limited financial base, I have been encouraged to see that each dollar goes a long way to help needy girls and women in Africa. I will continue to support the organization and to encourage others to support its great mission.
