As a member of the University of Pittsburgh Hillman Cancer Center Research team, we often have extra supplies from studies that are closed or non-expired items in study kits that have an expiration date on the study boxes. Most of these items are lab supplies, syringes, slides, collection tubes, shipping boxes and the like.
To add these items to a land fill would be a crime, especially with the current global medical needs. My supervisors, being community minded as well as enviornmentally friendly, agreed to allow me to seek out an organization that would accept these items. Global Links was the answer to my prayers. Not only have they been extremely helpful in teaching me what items can be donated, but they are physically helpful when I arrive with a car load of boxes!
Thanks to the Global Links organization as well as the staff for being such a large part of the pro-active work to assist the less fortunate while keeping our planet less cluttered with unwanted supplies.
