My Nonprofit Reviews

Cubia
Review for Rape, Abuse & Incest National Network (RAINN), Washington, DC, USA
I love volunteering here! I have been for a few months now. I got to know a lot of people at the corporate office during my training, and they were all friendly, devoted people. I work in the online hotline, and all of the people I have met on there have also been fantastic people. The work is satisfying, and they have realistic expectations about what you can and can't do as a volunteer. I highly recommend this nonprofit!

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...
People have directly expressed to me how much the crisis intervention can help their situations--since it's intended to only be a one-time service, I do not talk to visitors after they have started their healing journeys, but pretty much everybody I interact with is grateful for the service and help they received.
If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...
I think the volunteers could have a bit more training. Honestly, some of the volunteers I trained with were just not very good at crisis intervention, not to insult them or anything...but yet they were able to continue with the training, when I was scared they may not be a good fit for this position. I'm sure that RAINN would remove anybody that is not a good fit at all for the online hotlines...but it still made me worry slightly.
