Since at least 2000, the "Fourth Estate" has neglected its role of keeping our citizens well informed with great investigative reporting. As a result, wars are being waged that needn't have been and thousands of our troops and innocent civilians of the world have been murdered. TruthOut is helping fill be void left when the corporate owned media (only about 6 or 7 mega-companies now control content and accuracy in news) dictate what we see, hear, and read. Right now, it is citizens and organizations with patriotism and quality journalism at heart that are barely holding fascism at bay or exposing fascism's creep into our government and its policies and procedures. We can only hope TruthOut keeps up the quality journalism it has offered thus far.
