Review for Truthout, Sacramento, CA, USA
Truthout has rapidly become my most trusted source of news. Not only because of the bravery and eloquence of its writers, but for its insistence on focusing on what is important. I don't want to read about Tiger Blood, and I don't care about whether Scarlett and Sean are dating. I care about a world where my child has a chance at a decent life. I care about America's actions and profile around the globe. I care about holding my elected officials accountable - even if I campaigned hard for them. I deserve the truth, I deserve the dignity of making informed decisions, and I can't be distracted by bread and circuses. I have to make hard decisions, I have to sacrifice, in order to be a good parent, a good neighbor and a good citizen. Truthout is the only news source that has the decency to give me the tools I need to be the person I want to be.

Tell them to be less lax about security. Someone hacked onto their site and deleted content - the same content I choose to read. There is nothing worse than feeling like you're being herded into a pen (while being told the herders are the only ones guaranteeing your freedoms). This recent attack on Truthout is an act of war on the American intellect.
