Review for Pegasus Voyages, Albany, CA, USA
Excellent program to get youth out sailing who probably would never have the chance otherwise. Pegasus is an amazing wooden boat with a real story to tell. She's well maintained and safety rules the operation. As Captain Richard says, "We're trying to have the safest boat on the planet." Volunteering is run extremely well via a website scheduling system and Capt'n Richard has groomed a large group of qualified individuals. He has especially sought out women to crew and they often end up outnumbering the men on voyages; a rare occurrence in the boating world.

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...
The children you meet on the voyages are incredible. You can see a real gleam in their eyes when we get out on the water, especially when they get to partake in the operation of the boat. The safety requirements and order displayed by the crew seem especially helpful for kids with behavior problems.
If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...
Try and stick as much as possible to the scheduled times that volunteers commit to on the volunteering schedule. It's tough to make plans otherwise if the event runs over and makes people less likely to volunteer if the schedule is not kept.
