Review for New York Marine Rescue Center, Riverhead, NY, USA

I was a volunteer and now I am a general member of the public. As both, I am most impressed by the dedication of the individuals involved in this organization. They are professional and caring people who are not nearly compensated enough for their efforts. I was able to work with them behind the scenes and be a part of the team. I was always impressed by the level of commitment exhibited by all the members of the Riverhead Foundation.

The number of times I was involved with an a sick animal; I witnessed, firsthand, the professional involvement of the staff.

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

Find ways to get the Foundation more money. The work is very valuable to both the public and the scientific community. They do educational outreach in local schools teaching children about their environment and the impact humans have on the ocean and its animals.

Role:  General Member of the Public & I was primarily involved in animal rescue and aftercare. Like all volunteers, I also worked on public outreach and fundraising. It is important for the public to be aware of our mission.
