Review for LIVESTRONG Foundation, Austin, TX, USA

Rating: 5 stars

On 16th May 2000 I heard the words "Unfortunately, when we talk about your condition we have to use the word 'cancer'. In your case it's Testicular Cancer. I want you in hospital tomorrow morning, the theatre is booked for 4pm for the necessary surgery to remove the cancerous testicle, and on 29th May you'll start chemotherapy....." Wow! hardly begins to cover my reaction. I wanted GOOD information ... and fast! Through the Lance Armstrong website I found exactly the information I so desperately needed. I've seen the LAF grow from basically a one-man crusade to the Number 1 national and international advocate against this horrible, nasty disease. This organisation is just SO worthy of support, your money or your time/effort will not be wasted - it will go straight to the battle against cancer. I really could NOT overstate just how worthy the LAF is of support ... it's No 1, plain and simple, no ifs buts or ands ... it just IS !

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

raising awareness worldwide for the battle against cancer.

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

... appoint the present CEO and staff to continue what they are now doing!

What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...

... being among people who are TOTALLY dedicated to the task of defeating cancer.

The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...

... amazing people, pure and simple... totally dedicated. I applaud them!

If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...

... do more of what it already does - and what it already does is, quite simply, nothing short of MAGNIFICENT !!!

Ways to make it better...

... well, my experience could not be better.

In my opinion, the biggest challenges facing this organization are...

... going global - but I have every confidence they will succeed, and succeed magnificently.

One thing I'd also say is that...

I have such a high opinion of the LAF and what it does that it is a major beneficiary in my Will. What's left when I pass on was hard earned and I certainly wouldn't want to waste it. With the LAF I KNOW my legacy will be well used! That's enough for me.
