Review for Northern Jaguar Project, Tucson, AZ, USA
Northern Jaguar Project, along with their partners Naturalia and Defenders of Wildlife, have done more for wildlife conservation in northern Mexico than any other NGO that I am aware. By gathering support from 100's of foundations and individual supporters, NJP purchased the first private conservation reserve for jaguars and other wildlife in N. Mexico, and its a large remote area where jaguars have a good chance of persisting over time due to these actions. I have worked in northern Mexico as a wildlife biologist for 12 years and can say without reservation, I know of no other group that has done more for conservation in the region than NJP. Moreover, NJP has made major strides at educating landowners about predator conservation and compensated them for losses of livestock due to predators, as well as provided incentives to not killing predators on private lands
