My Nonprofit Reviews
Review for Project Single Moms Worldwide, Inc., Atlanta, GA, USA
I had the opportunity to become a coordinator with Project Single Moms Worldwide, Inc. I was and still am just as excited as I was when I first learned about PSM. It has been my pleasure to serve as an affiliate coordinator and to help single moms achieve many goals. Our single moms in the Hampton Roads area have struggled with many things in their lives and their children's lives. Many have been discouraged with the way they are treated by some people because they are a single mom. Our programs within PSM have helped these moms to gain their self-respect, build their confidence, Our moms who wanted to go back to school have been able to do so with the help of PSM and their partners E-Learners. Those who wanted to venture out and become a first time homeowner have been able to achieve that goal. Some of our moms have become authors writing their own books. Many have taken that leap and ventured out on faith to become their own boss by starting their own business. This movement Project Single Moms, Worldwide, Inc., has helped so many single moms and the movement is steadily growing by leaps and bounds and bringing the single moms many wonderful programs, educational opportunities, entrepeneur opportunities and health and wellness awareness for them and their children. I salute the leaders of this great organization and am so proud to be a part of this steadily growing and improving movement and make a huge change and difference in the lives of the single moms here in the Hampton Roads area.
I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...
I've had single moms come up to me that have attended our programs and tell me that they were so glad to hear about PSM. The moms realize that it takes time to affect a change, but they know that this organization is well on it's way to empowering the single moms of our surrounding areas to stand up, be strong and know that there are a lot of other moms standing behind them to make a change and to also change the way people view them as a single mom.
If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...
Challenge every corporation and agency who says that they want to help the single moms to put their money where their mouths are. To achieve that goal by offering grants, giving out scholarships and being very supportive to the programs that PSM offers to the single moms. The only change I would make to this organization would be to offer the new affiliates and the existing ones, seed money to get them started, a banner, table cover, and pamphlets for getting the word out to the world about single moms.
