My Nonprofit Reviews

Review for Save The Whales Inc, Salinas, CA, USA
As a science educator in a school habitat garden,
I have requested presentations from Save the Whales on numerous occasions. I facilitate volunteer dune habitat restoration around the Monterey Bay. Save the Whales watershed pollution lessons are excellent and include a great visual display allowing students to do "hands-on (non-toxic) polluting" of their own watershed. The students still remember the presentation years later. Best of all, they get the connection between pollution of the watershed model and what they do at their own homes, at school and at the coast.
The whale and sea mammal presentations are excellent with many artifacts to see and feel. The student's eyes were opened regarding all the varieties of marine debris and how they could help prevent pollution.

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...
Save the Whale instructors, Maris Sidenstecker and Tom Kieckhefer, are highly qualified and totally dedicated to their subject. My students quickly caught their enthusiasm to "do the right thing" and help save our oceans and all life within. I frequently work with financially challenged schools and Save the Whales ALWAYS helps us bring their conservation message to the kids no matter how much we can donate for their presentations.
If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...
Not change a thing in the organization, but would urge financial supporters to keep up the funding so that financially challenged and science deficient schools could continue to benefit from hands-on lessons by Save the Whales.
