Review for Valley Humane Society Inc, Pleasanton, CA, USA
I live on Cape Cod, MA. but travel to my home town of Oakland Ca. and while there every yr. I stop in and visit the shelter. I started when they were still working/adopting out of a trailer and did such a wonderful job with the conditions they had at that time. I witnessed such love and care for all the animals that were in their care. I volunteer at a shelter here on the Cape so I am fully aware of the dedication it takes to be a volunteer. Their new facility is awesome and so much healthier for both the pets and volunteers.

Review for People for Cats, East Falmouth, MA, USA
I have been with People for Cats for 5-6 yrs now. I was so impressed with the work that was being done by this organization that I had to volunteer my services. We have as an organization continued to grow in many directions. Reaching out to the community and educating them about spaying and neutering, the importance of vaccinating and keeping their cats indoors. Trying to keep the feral population at a low level and teaching the public how we trap cats, have them spayed and neutered and then release them. If there are kittens we find foster homes to socialize them then they go to their forever homes with vaccinations and a health exam. We also try and help those in need that do have pets but have been unable to get to vets. We also have a t.v show on our local station where we show the cats at the shelter and usually have a guest on.

Watching all the new families leaving our shelter with their new kitties is very heartwarming. Doing the trapping and knowing that I have helped that cat by having it s/n and having vaccinations and if there are kittens for them to find homes and not being left to fend for themselfs in the wild.

I would like to see PFC find more funding and have more volunteers join us.
