Review for American Cancer Society Foundation, Atlanta, GA, USA

Rating: 5 stars

I have never been involved with an organization that affects so many people in so many ways. Thru Relay I have had the fortune to meet some truely amazing people who have been touched by cancer and know first hand how much the American Cancer SOciety does. The indivudals who are part of this orgaization form a family and have the biggests hearts Ive ever seen.

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

the eyes and words of indiviuals who come year after year to promote and thank the work of ACS.

What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...

Meeting the people who survive because of what ACS is doing.

The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...

nothing short of amazing. The ACS staff works for little pay, no recognition, just the feeling you get by knowing you change lives. The volunteers give it thier all. Both staff and volunteers beleive in the mission.

If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...

Do wonderous things. Give more rides to appointments, maybe even end cancer - because they will someday.

Ways to make it better...

I would have raised more money. I never feel like I do enough to help this fight.

In my opinion, the biggest challenges facing this organization are...

Economic times. Fundraising is tough. Even though I have never encountered anyone who did not beleive this is a worthy orgainization.

One thing I'd also say is that...

I have volunteered for many things in my life. Never have I felt compelled to be apart of something. I beleive ACS is doing work that everyone one of us can say we have benefited from.

When was your last experience with this nonprofit?

2009

Role:  Volunteer & Orgainized local Relay for Life Event, and now serve on the training team, so that I can help others share this great experience.
