The American Community Garden Association is the premier source of education and information and support for both old and new Community Gardens in North America.
The American Community Garden List Serve Digest connects professionals and gifted and amateur gardeners and community organizers every single day and promotes healthy urban communities.
Garden Mosiacs is only one of the programmes that encourages young people to investigate and explore the natural world in gardens.
The American Community Gardening Association advocates across America for the benefits that urban gardens confer on Communities.
ACGA plays and important role in educating gardeners, administrators and community activists on all aspects of urban gardening.
Once a year the ACGA holds a convention which draws gardeners from across North America. They come to learn, to meet, to see and to confirm the value of Community Gardens. If the ACGA didn't exist, it would have to be invented. Luckily it does exist and it is a great non-profit.

The educational role of ACGA cannot be over emphasized, through monthly tele-conferences which are archived and the archives of the List Serve and the web site. ACGA is pretty tech savy for a bunch of Gardeners!
If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...
I would try to find it some core funding . I worry about sustainability in that sense. Also I would emphasize governance a bit more.
