My Nonprofit Reviews

Michele F.
Review for CancerCare, New York, NY, USA
I was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2002, was in a support group for a while and then co-facilitated a support group for lesbians with cancer for several years. But I really hadn't dealt with my personal problems stemming from a cancer diagnosis and treatment. I was fortunate to find out about Cancer Care's individual counseling services and have found my experience invaluable to my health and well-being. I feel cared for, understood and supported.

Review for Annie Appleseed Project, Delray Beach, FL, USA
The 4th Annual Evidence-Based Complementary & Alternative Cancer Therapies Conference organized by Annie Appleseed Project was one of the best organized and informative conferences I've ever attended. Speakers from all over the world presented and the information they imparted was eye-opening. While there's no magic bullet for cancer, as everyone responds differently to any given drug or approach, there are options out there, in combination and tailored to the individual, that are commonplace in Europe. Some of these approaches are available in a limited way in the U.S., some are not. If knowledge is power, I left the conference feeling more empowered. The conference is a testament to Annie Appleseed Project founder Ann Fonfa's dedication to providing people with cancer with the knowledge to make informed health care choices. Not only did I learn about cancer therapies and paradigms, I learned what I can do to be the healthiest me I can be.

I learned so much about what cancer therapies are available in other countries and about things I can do to be the healthiest me I can be.

I wouldn't change anything. I wish I had the money to donate so that Annie Appleseed Project could reach more people.
