Review for Women Empowered Against Violence, Inc., Washington, DC, USA
I write as the founder and former Executive Director of WEAVE and a current board member. I started WEAVE when I was in my third year of law school with three fellow students because of the enormous need we saw for victims of domestic violence who were struggling to heal from the violence, secure safety for themselves and their children, and address legal issues, housing needs, and economic stability. It was an honor to work with survivors and assist them along their journey of recovery and empowerment. The staff at WEAVE was, and continues to be, a group of extremely committed and passionate supporters of all survivors who work extremely hard to find creative and powerful ways to assist the folks who come to WEAVE to help.

I've personally experienced the results of this organization by seeing and hearing the gratitude of survivors whose lifes have been transformed through their affiliation and work with the counselors, lawyers, volunteers and advocates who work at WEAVE.

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would stabilize WEAVE's funding sources, engage the community much more fully in WEAVE's work and increase WEAVE's staff and resources so that the staff at WEAVE could engage in the most creative and cutting-edge services as possible.
