Review for Cancer Schmancer Foundation, Malibu, CA, USA
At 35 I was diagnosed with Uterine and Cervical cancer. That was 7 years ago. I underwent a radical hysterectomy and have been cancer free since. Unfortunately I never had any children. I often wonder if I would have been diagnosed sooner had the right tests been available and done at that time. I also wonder why for years did the tests show me as “normal” when I had cancer growing inside me. I was, like Ms. Drescher, misdiagnosed for years. I stand behind everything that she and her foundation have done and will do for all women. She is a fierce and courageous woman! This foundation is the absolute best thing that has happened for women in the fight against cancer. Fran you are awesome!
More Feedback
I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...
numerous TV appearances, magazine articles, facebook and above all in the lives of every woman Fran Drescher has managed to touch!
If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...
arrange to have as many high schools visited as possible. Young women are at a higher risk then ever and need to be educated. I'd like to help Fran reach areas that she hasn't gotten to yet.
What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...
just how positive and encouraging it has been for women of every nationality and age. A women's first time getting tested can be scary but knowing you have Fran and Cancer Schmancer fighting for you behinds the scences makes all the difference!
The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...
I haven't had the pleasure of meeting anyone but would love to some day.
If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...
make sure that no young woman ever suffers the fate of cancer. It could also allow Fran to organize Cancer Schmancer branches in every hospital possible. Treatment and counseling make all the difference.
Ways to make it better...
I had taken the time to write this review sooner! Cancer Schmancer deserves all the recognition we can give it.
In my opinion, the biggest challenges facing this organization are...
money...donations..
One thing I'd also say is that...
We are all blessed to have Fran Drescher in our lives. No one person has done as much for women's cancers as she has done with Cancer Schmancer. Fran is our angel!
