I have been volunteering with Arms Wide Open Childhood Cancer Foundation for the past 10 years (since I was just six years old). In that time, AWOCCF has become so much more than a cause to me; it’s become a family. Through the foundation, I’ve met the most incredible, resilient people, built lifelong friendships, and discovered a deep passion for advocacy and support. AWOCCF’s commitment to funding less toxic treatments for childhood cancer, providing direct family support through grants and programs like Thrive, and uplifting every child and family impacted by cancer is nothing short of inspiring. One of the most powerful moments each year is CureFest. The weekend unites the entire childhood cancer community together in strength and hope and I feel truly honored to be part of it every year. Volunteering with AWOCCF has shaped who I am today. I am endlessly grateful for this journey as it has truly changed my life.
