I have a wonderful horse named Aj, I have had him for 13 years. My twins grew up with AJ. They have moved out and gone to college. My husband of 24 years died unexpectedly last year. Several months after his death I was involved in an accident that broke my tibula, fibula and kneecap. I have undergone 7 surgeries over the 9 months. I am currently still in a wheelchair but am working as hard as I can to recover. I obviously had to make a lot of changes in taking care of AJ. I had to hire help twice a week to go into his pen, clean it out, scrub out his water trough etc. Since I cannot work, I was running out of money. I started searching on line when I found Fleet of Angels. Believe me they are in fact ANGELS. I filed out the request form and told them my situation, one week later (ONE WEEK) I was given a grant to help pay for AJ’s alfalfa. It was enough to cover us for two months (possibly a little more) while I continue to work on walking. It was like my prayers were answered! This generous gift has helped to keep me and my best friend together! I seriously was running out of options. The thought of losing my best friend was unbearable. Thanks to this marvelous organization AJ and I can continue to be together. There are no words for how grateful I am for helping me stay with my best friend.
