My 12 year old son and I attended this event, this past Saturday. It was one of the best organized events we have ever been to. The atmosphere was calm, the people were kind and helpful. They took safety into consideration, and at no time did I worry if it was safe or not as a result. And that’s saying something for me because water activities usually have me on high anxiety alert. My son knew nothing about fishing when we arrived. Our Captain, Captain Ross was patient and kind with him. He taught my son how to rebook his line, how to cast, how to bait his line, and dare I say how to be patient. My son caught his first ever fish then 6 more! He was over the moon. Captain Ross also taught him about the boat and how all the equipment on it worked as well. Once we came back to dock the food was amazing. Fresh burgers and hotdogs. Nothing fancy but just right for the occasion. They were also very accommodating to everyone’s schedules and time limitations, presenting some of the awards early for those who had to leave early. So every kid got recognition even if they couldn’t stay for the formal award ceremony. I thought that was very considerate and kind. Xander came home with a t-shirt, hat, new fishing pole, tackle box with fishing gear in it, a medal, a commemorative plaque, and even an extra burger. This organization went above and beyond. And we will be attending their future events. This mama was impressed.
