Sometimes when you get to know an organization really well, the shine wears off. Not with SAFE. As a long-ago past-President, I am still proud to be a donor. With consistent leadership, the organization has only improved over the years. Someone once asked me why I volunteered to help animals when I should really be helping people. While SAFE focuses on the horses' stories, it is absolutely helping people: hard working people in unexpected circumstances; families whose elderly members passed, leaving them with a burden they cannot handle; people in dysfunctional situations that need help letting go of their horses. Helping the horses invariably helps people heal as well. SAFE is ethical, sustainable, and transparent organization that makes informed decisions for every horse that comes through the gate.
