I’ve been volunteering with Save the Whales for the past nine months, and it’s been a significant experience. I have also had the chance to give back to my community in a way that is meaningful. Working with Save the Whales has been very eye-opening and impactful. We prioritize educating the students about ocean life, why protecting the environment is essential, and how they can help. My favorite experience has been educating the youth from Gonzales. Seeing how curious and excited they are to learn reminds me how powerful education can be. It’s significant to help kids understand these issues early on because they’re the ones who will shape the future. Teaching them about environmental safety and conservation gives them tools to take care of the world around them, and that feels like a real investment in both their future and the planet’s. I feel honored to be a part of such a meaningful and impactful organization. Seeing kids start making those connections and feel proud of their actions is rewarding. This has been a chance to give back to where I grew up and other communities and help the next generation become better stewards of the Earth.
