Review for College of Adaptive Arts, Saratoga, CA, USA
The journey to CAA began by watching a video by DeAnna Pursai and her sister Angel. The video explains the love of a sister and the inspiration of CAA.
Our daughter, Aryona, has been attending virtual classes with CAA since 2022. She has taken a variety of classes. One of the first classes she took was YANA (You Are Not Alone). It was one of her first choices for a few Semesters as she enjoyed interacting with the other students, listening to their stories and sharing her own. YANA helped her with overall peer interaction improvement and confidence, as well as acclimating her to the online learning environment.
Each Semester, Aryona chooses the class(es) she would like to take. While she has enjoyed each Class she has taken, her favorite(s) have been Traditional Art and Kickboxing. She is currently taking Kickboxing this Semester and wants to continue taking it. Kickboxing has helped increase her focus, coordination and range of motion, which enhances her ongoing personal training.
CAA has provided a learning model that truly benefits all with disabilities. The Professors have the patience, understanding and knowledge to instruct all students at their ability level. The Class structures and learning tools that are used make learning fun. The overall Class engagement is very impressive!
We are Zooming in from the east coast. We know that CAA’s long-term vision is to become the Special Olympics-model for lifelong learning – to partner with community college & university campuses throughout the nation and world to have a lifelong learning model on their campus. I know of so many adults in our community who would benefit from a having this innovative lifelong learning model close to where they live, and then it will be so much easier for my daughter to fill out her learning schedule without the current 3-hour time zone difference from coast to coast.
I highly recommend CAA to those seeking a safe space for their loved one to learn and explore new experiences which will enhance their overall intellectual and physical wellbeing.
