Review for Udayan Care, New Delhi, , India
Interning with Udayan Care has been a journey of Great Profit—not in the financial sense, but in personal, professional, and ethical development. As part of the Aftercare Outreach Program (AoP), I was exposed to a wide range of responsibilities—from resource mapping and vocational institute engagement to direct communication with care leavers and facilitating residential bootcamps.
Each task, whether it was designing tools for assessment, updating directories, or organizing program logistics, added to my understanding of how deep-rooted and systemic the needs of care leavers can be. The experience taught me the importance of planning, field coordination, and youth-centered engagement.
A highlight was the three-day residential bootcamp, where I learned minute-taking, program management, and facilitation. These real-world experiences refined my communication, teamwork, and critical thinking skills—profits I’ll carry long after this internship ends.
Despite some limitations—like minimal exposure to community work and restricted time for deeper engagement—the value I gained far outweighs these challenges. Udayan Care has truly been a space of learning by doing, and I consider this experience a profound profit on both personal and professional fronts.
