I retired from the corporate world in December 2022. My dream was to find an opportunity to be engaged with horses and getting books in the hands of children. What I found was more than I could ever dream of. I toured Exceptional Equestrians July 7th 2023 and began sponsoring Maverick for a year. When I noticed the little barn to take or leave a book I began donating children’s books. I thought I could do more so I suggested to EE to create an online WISHLIST because going to stores was overwhelming by how many brands they have for one item. With the WISHLIST on the EE website I have had the pleasure of donating what the associates needed. I began researching books on human horse therapy and have purchased, read, and donated many books on the topic. Being engaged with Lisa and the staff gave me a sense of belonging to a community greater than myself. My recent donation of a saddle in honor of my special friend Victor has been a token of appreciation for what he has brought to my life after losing both my parents. I can’t imagine what could bring me more joy and happiness than walking in the office with something off the wishlist knowing I’m making a difference. God has put the best people in the best position to help so many people. Thank you to everyone who I have been blessed to meet and share this journey with.
