I first found Furvivors a few years ago when I needed help. Wanting to get a pony for my grandkids, for them to learn about animals and their care, a friend put me in touch with a “kid friendly, cart and saddle broke “ pony. When I brought him home he was anything but safe. He bolted, reared, kicked, bit, wouldn’t allow farrier care and other bad habits. I worked with him for over a year and he became fairly safe with me as long as I was careful. He started trying to get to my grandkids to hurt them and began cornering and trying to trample the goats. I knew he needed a change. I reached out to trainers and was told to put him down or send him to auction. I was responsible for him so that wasn’t an option. After reaching out to numerous rescues I was afraid that my options were becoming limited because he was not safe. I saw this fairly new rescue and called them as a last resort. Best decision I ever made! They came to assess him and were back a few days later to get him. I have stayed in contact with them, visited and support them. Duke is living his best life! It’s been awesome watching them grow and save so many lives. They continue to do great work providing the best possible care for all of them. And Duke is safe forever. They have built an absolutely amazing team that continues to welcome new rescues. Furvivors will always have my support any way I can provide.
