I'm so grateful to be the recipient of a High Fives Foundation Empowerment grant. After I somersaulted 200 feet down the side of a mountain pass on a mountaineering trip, coming to a stop with bilateral compound ankle fracture/dislocations (and a concussion), I did not think I would walk again. I can, but my recovery is far from over. With High Fives' support, I will be able to continue to access physical therapy that helps me regain my strength and adapt to my new mobility limitations. The Empowerment grant is a huge relief and a gift I will never forget!
