I first witnessed BRAC's work in the field when I went to Ethiopia in 2011 to observe their Ultra-Poor Graduation program. I was very impressed by the impact the program was having on the lives of the women it was designed for. At the time I worked for MasterCard Foundation where we funded a significant program with BRAC International across several countries in Sub Saharan Africa. That work has since expanded to other countries building on lessons learned and successes.
I joined the Board of BRAC USA in 2020 and I visited BRAC in Bangladesh in 2023 to observe many of their programs there. Their outreach and impact are significant and impressive. I remain committed to BRAC's model of development as it has shown that it works and that programs can be scaled for success.
