Review for Journalism And Women Symposium, Grandville, MI, USA
JAWS fills the huge gaps in education and training for women in journalism. Most newsrooms do not have the capacity or time to do training. JAWS does nuts and bolts training on using new media, digital equipment, editing, reporting, shooting stories, upgrading and improving one's skills, etc. This community of helps continues on a day to day basis through its daily email alerts, information sharing and help to individuals. It has extremely low administrative expenses and is a labor of love AND achievement.

Expand its financial base so that it would reach women in every newsroom, especially new hires who leave the profession prematurely because they cannot advance, find mentors, etc.
