I have loved the oddly-named Goathouse Refuge since I first learned of it several years ago. What struck me most was the communal environment in which the cats live and love, freely roaming about in blissful freedom, safety, and companionship, both amongst themselves and with their lovingly attentive human caregivers. The cats respond to such a caring environment with peaceable natures and affection towards each other and the people who are blessed to interact with them. To top it off, the screening process the cats go through before they are placed in a loving home is thorough yet compassionately conducted, to insure a safe and compatible landing place for each fortunate cat. That gives further assurance to supporters and adopters alike that the Goathouse is more than just a place that loves their charges while they're with them. They love them enough to make sure that those who take over for their care will love them, too. Our lives have been forever enriched by our adoption of our tripod "Zona", whom we renamed Tripoli in Sept. 2023. Moreover, we feel blessed and privileged to have become a monthly supporter of this worthy, heart-filled home for God's most enigmatic and graceful creatures. I pray that all who read this will experience such tremendous joy, as well.
