I first encountered Free2Luv at ECCC 3 years ago! They had set up a wonderful lounge and i used it to draw and nap, it was such a wonderful friendly environment. The team behind it made me feel so so welcome. A very important memory happened to me that year, Growing up queer in an eastern european household was not easy and i felt conflicted all my life about my sexuality, my mom and me budded heads about it plenty. When he came to pick me up i decided to show her the lounge, and she briefly spoke to Tanya. I don’t know how she managed it but my mom came out the lounge a little more accepting of me. She said she liked Tanya and the team working the lounge, that was a big bonding moment for me and her! Free2Luv is an incredible nonprofit i adore to death, my mom respects the people behind it. This year i am happy to be volunteering for the second time with them and i am so excited to be apart of this amazing community fostered by Free2Luv.
